When 9 year old Friederike Liebrecht and her family came to stay at Flatdogs Camp for a safari holiday they wanted to see what life was like for children at a local school. We took them to see Mfuwe Day Secondary School and then to meet the kids at Katapila Community School.

For weeks before her departure Friederike had been busy fundraising for us and had managed to raise a staggering $2500 as well as collect a huge bag of pens, lots of books and a bag of bras.  Well done and thank you Friederike.
During our visit to Katapila I talked with the Grade 6 pupils about what is needed to create a grade 7 class next year - it will be the first year that Katapila teaches grade 7.

The main need was text books and whilst the class was working out how much money we needed to raise . . . well . . . I'll let Friederike tell the story as she has so ably done in the pdf produced for her donors and sent me when she got home to Germany.

A BIG THANK YOU to Friederike, for sending us such a lovely report of her holiday and for all her hard work raising funds.  We spent a total of K6370 or $1225 of her  donation on the Grade 7 text books for Katapila.  We would like to put the remaining funds towards an exciting new project called iSchool. (web page coming soon)
