Motria Van Schrieber, who lives in Australia, has been a staunch supporter of Project Luangwa for nearly three years but prior to her 2013 trip to South Luangwa she worked extremely hard and exceeded all her past fund-raising achievements. Over the months preceding her holiday she put holiday planning to one side and spent her time raising a staggering US $3000.

She writes . . .
I have been receiving support from our local newspaper Bega District News, many local shops and businesses friend networks, garage sales, schools, preschools, cafes and even my husband's Bermagui Veterinary Clinic. People here understand that even a gold coin ($1-2) can make a real difference and they want to make a genuine sincere connection with the schoolchildren of the Luangwa valley. I should also mention that the Bega valley is the second poorest place in New South Wales in a depressed economy but this community is shining with incredible generosity and empathy.

But Motria will not just be bringing funds . . . she, her family and her friends have been busy collecting bras and new knickers for our Bring–a-Bra appeal.  It seems that underwear collected in offices and schools has been winging its way across Australia to Motria’s home from towns over eight hours away.

A BIG THANK YOU to Motria, her family and all the wonderful supporters who have helped her help the kids here in South Luangwa.
